About Dr. David Tews

I have been in the mental health treatment field for over twenty years. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop new healthy coping skills, and build a fulfilling and balanced life. I am passionate about helping my clients navigate the complexities of mental health. Whether you are struggling with compulsive behaviors, anxiety, or depression, I am here to support you on your journey to recovery.

I have developed a compassionate and evidence-based approach to therapy that empowers my clients to reclaim control over their lives. My therapeutic practice is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for change and growth. I utilize components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and motivational enhancement to create a personalized plan to address each client’s unique needs.

As a dedicated substance use disorder treatment therapist, I specialize in helping individuals with co-occurring disorders. Anxiety and depression are common underlying issues. Dealing with day-to-day stress, understanding and coping with trauma, poor interpersonal communication, anger management, guilt, shame, and impulse control are all areas I address when working with my clients. I have also helped clients overcome the challenges of compulsive pornography use, compulsive use of gambling, and problematic use of social media.
